Five years ago tonight, Billy Strings headlined Red Rocks for the first time. He'd opened for Greensky on that same stage in 2019. During COVID he played a livestream there to an empty amphitheater. The festival show featured several notable guests, including Daniel Hutchens and Eric Carter from Bloodkin who sat in on the rare Quarter Tank Of Gasoline - the first time Panic had played the song in 7 years, a gap of 871 shows. David Blackmon on fiddle joined the band for the final three songs of the 2nd set: Driving Song, Breathing Slow, and Ain't Life Grand. Here's a clip from the fiddle-fueled finale of Ain't Life Grand.

This clip from Barstools & Dreamers, which closed the first set, offers a glimpse into what a Panic show looked like in 1991. I love how it gets the lighting rig, the stage setup, and all the members in action. Interestingly, a video recording exists but no audio recording has surfaced from this show.
