@sternenko Any idea what proportion of Russia’s total UAV fleet this (and other, non-Sternenko-funded drone) represents? What about monthly/yearly production? Because that sounds like a large chunk of their ISR assets getting whacked.

🇹🇷 THREE DRONE INCIDENTS IN FIVE DAYS TEST TURKEY'S AIRSPACE AS BLACK SEA TENSIONS RISE Turkey recorded three separate UAV incidents between December 15-20, raising questions about Russian drone activity near NATO territory. INCIDENT 1: December 15 - SHOOTDOWN Turkish F-16s scrambled after detecting an unidentified aerial track approaching from the Black Sea. The UAV was assessed as "out of control" and destroyed outside populated areas. Debris fragmented on impact, complicating identification. No attribution announced. INCIDENT 2: December 19 - ORLAN-10 FOUND Residents in Kocaeli province discovered a damaged UAV in an agricultural field near İzmit. Initial assessment identified it as a Russian-origin Orlan-10 reconnaissance drone. Photos showed a red star marking. The Orlan-10 is widely documented in the Ukraine war for surveillance missions. Authorities have not explained how it reached northwestern Turkey. INCIDENT 3: December 20 - UNIDENTIFIED CRASH Farmers in Balıkesir province reported another UAV crash in an empty field. The aircraft was transferred to Ankara for technical examination. The drone visually resembles the Russian Merlin-VR, a long-range reconnaissance UAV capable of 600km range and 10-hour flight time. Each unit costs approximately $300,000. Ukraine has destroyed at least 12 since 2022. THE BIG PICTURE: Three drones. Five days. A NATO member's airspace. Turkey has not confirmed any link between the incidents or made official attribution. Source: Turkish Defense Ministry, Clash Report

While a downed Su-57 — shot down by Russia’s own air defence — is still burning, and the Subkhankulovo pipeline station is on fire, it’s worth explaining what those spectacular warehouse videos actually mean. Ukrainian serviceman and military analyst Serhii Misiura breaks down why Wildberries is a legitimate strategic target. Here is the scale. Wildberries turns over 4.1 trillion rubles a year — more than 2% of Russia’s entire GDP. Every 50th ruble in the Russian economy passes through one private platform. To put it in Ukrainian terms: imagine Rozetka, Prom, Nova Poshta, Monobank and all of Ukraine’s outdoor advertising combined into one company. It would still be smaller than Wildberries. — 3,000,000 m² of warehouse space — 45,000+ pickup points (Nova Poshta has 16,000 branches) — 20 million orders per day — over 7 billion items a year — 70 million active buyers per month — Net profit over 100 billion rubles The workforce behind it: — 150,000–200,000 warehouse and logistics staff — 150,000+ working at pickup points — 1,000,000+ registered sellers, employing another 2–3 million people Over 3 million people in Russia depend on this system. Now the part that makes it a military target. Wildberries doubled from 844 billion to 1.67 trillion rubles between 2021 and 2022. Then doubled again to over 4 trillion by 2024–25. Since the full-scale invasion began, the business has grown roughly five times. Western brands leaving. Sanctions. Parallel imports. “War money” — payments for the dead and wounded — flooding poor and remote Russian regions. Mass sales of dual-use goods to the front. Wildberries became the war’s single biggest beneficiary — and its key logistics and supply artery. Misiura’s conclusion: “Destroying their mega-warehouses today isn’t just a fire at a private company’s depot. It is directly burning out the economic and logistical doping that holds up the enemy’s rear.” Russia spends about 12% of GDP on this war. Wildberries is 2% of GDP on its own. That is a substantial slice of legitimate military targets. Source: Serhii Misiura, July 23, 2026 #Ukraine #UAF #DroneWarfare #KineticSanctions #RussiaUkraineWar

Alien Invasion? Coming Apocalypse? I thought I lost this stream because I hadn't downloaded a copy but luckily I got my YouTube channels back. Originally from September 2024 This covers all the different statements from UFO movers and shakers about an upcoming alien invasion or some kind of impending apocalypse. Joined by Fringe I am not saying the world is ending or an invasion is coming but a suprising amount of notable figures in the UFO Disclosure movement have made statements indicating they believe this to be the case. For our 🔸10% Pledge our family has donated to Lead Exposure Elimination Project (LEEP): 1. Children in poor countries lose 6 IQ points on average due to lead exposure, per one estimate. 2. Despite that the problem got just $7-10m in charitable giving a year, until a recent push. 3. Lead Exposure Elimination Project has a strong record of actually changing policy – one estimate is $1.66 to prevent one kid being exposed to leaded paint through childhood. 4. For instance they helped pass enforceable lead paint laws in Nigeria and Liberia, have commitments from 9 more countries, and took Malawi from 67% leaded paint sold 3 years ago to near eliminated now. 5. Lead does more than damage kids brains and stunt their potential. A 2023 Lancet study estimated 5.5m adults die early each year from lead-related cardiovascular disease - 6x higher than previous estimates. 6. Adding up all the harms the total economic toll of lead exposure is plausibly enormous - ~$6T/year or ~7% of global GDP. My interview with their co-founder Lucia Coulter on the 80,000 Hours Podcast from a few years back is below. Learn more about the 🔸10% Pledge here if you like: (Note: I'm not sure whether or not LEEP has a big funding gap right now - we actually made this donation last year and I forgot to post about it at the time.) If you want to give to something similar other than LEEP then consider these funds or the orgs they're making grants to, links below: • Lead Exposure Action Fund • GiveWell All Grants Fund (which gives to more speculative GiveWell-researched grants) • Charity Entrepreneurship Incubated Charities Fund (LEEP was incubated and given seed funding by Charity Entrepreneurship/AIM)

Back in January when Megan and I charted out the year, the dream of the Leadville 100 course record was overwhelming. But big dreams should be overwhelming. It was time to get to work. Our plan started from 3 principles: 1. I’d need to be capable of running a 13:xx 5k at altitude, or around sub-4 min mile fitness. 6-minute mile pace would need to be a jog on race day, and that all came from improving my running economy. 2. I had to get stronger to handle the unknown distance, both in terms of threshold climbing and actual muscular strength. 3. I’d have to run every step of the race, including Hope Pass. Most interestingly, none of those goals required lots of training volume. I did 8-12 hours of aerobic training most weeks with very few doubles given life constraints, usually around 60-75 miles of running and 1-2 bike rides (pulsing up and down for adaptations, with some bigger weeks and a longer down period for my accident). You don’t need to do consistent 100+ mile weeks to be good at this sport. I have been building endurance bricks for 18 years, and every brick counts. With that time, we applied 6 ideas: 1. Most weeks had a speed workout (often pacing Allie Ostrander ahead of the Olympic Trials 🔥), culminating in 12 x 400 on short rest in 63-64 seconds at altitude in June 2. I’d do threshold sessions approximately every other week, often on the uphill treadmill at 8% or 15% grade, culminating in a massive 12 x 5 minute session a few weeks before race day 3. I did uphill treadmill runs in Z2 at 20% grade all year, including for 10 min after as many aerobic runs as I could 4. I did 3-4 days of strides every single week. My strength is my speed. 5. I biked once per week in place of a run, often using Zwift races for hard sessions (A+ racing category in Zwift!) 6. Every week, I did Ultra Legs strength + squats and took a rest day, plus did heat training Big takeaway: you don’t need to do wild volume to have success in ultras. Get fast, stay fast year round, spend time in Z2, and stack some fun bricks in the context of your life. The record may have shocked the ultra world. But as Megan said, it only shocked people who haven’t been following my Strava for the last decade 🧡

Episode #93: Michael Kim @ Cendana Michael Kim is the Founder of Cendana Capital, making anchor investments in very early stage VC funds. We talk 204x DPI funds, characteristics of the top performing venture investors, how Cendana does diligence on fund managers, portfolio construction best practices + Michael’s 60x rule, and why a high ownership to fund size ratio drives outlier returns. We also get into how VCs are using AI, the competition between Seed and multi-stage investors, why US endowments are under siege, and how secondaries are driving most early stage venture returns today. Michael also opens up about the early days of starting Cendana, the 18 month grind raising Cendana Fund 1, the day he almost died, and ranking in the top 2% globally in Call of Duty. Shoutout to Roger Ehrenberg, Kevin Hartz, Semil, Jeff Clavier, Beezer Clarkson, Jack Altman, Jeff Morris Jr., Sheel Mohnot, Nichole Wischoff, Ted Alling, and Rick Zullo for their help putting this together. 🚨 Civilian aircraft are now MASSIVELY vulnerable. Anyone can build a functional MANPADS missile launcher for under $100 full designs, 3D-print files, firmware, and AI targeting all open-sourced on GitHub right now. Shoulder-fired. Guided rocket. Built to lock onto and take down planes. What used to require nation-state factories, military supply chains, and millions in R&D… now anyone with a garage and a printer can make it. Our commercial airliners have zero defense against this new reality. The democratization of weapons just turned every flight into a potential target. The launcher and rocket use ESP32 microcontrollers along with sensors including an MPU6050 IMU, NEO-6M GPS, QMC5883L compass, and BMP180 barometric sensor. Flight stabilization is handled through a proportional-derivative control loop that adjusts canard control surfaces during flight. The mechanical structure was designed in Fusion 360 and analyzed in OpenRocket to evaluate aerodynamic stability. Most structural components were produced using consumer-grade 3D printing and assembled with threaded inserts, machine screws, and custom springs. Total build cost: approximately $96. $6 Esp32 (2) $17 MG996r Servos (4) $3 SG90 Servos (2) $4 Switches (4) $15 ABS pipe (1) $20 Urgenex 1100mAh Battery (2) $1 BMP180 (1) $1 MPU6050 (1) $5 NEO-6M (1) $2 QMC5883l (1) $1 Active Buzzer(1) $17 PLA Plastic (1.5 kg) $2 PVC Pipe (9 in) $2 Rocket Propellant (170g) Wires / Capacitors / etc Negligible Future development explores integration with distributed camera-node tracking networks capable of generating real-time XYZ coordinates of airborne objects.
