There are no trans kids !!! Transitioning. Children is child abuse !! When I was 12, I was also confused in my body because I was having feelings of being a lesbian and had someone been there to confuse me with gender affirming care. I two would be a mutilated human being right now. No one is telling these kids that they’re gonna grow out of this phase. You’re too young to make permanent decisions. In this episode, I speak about what happened after I was moved into independent living while still so young, even after years of professionals already knowing I was being abused. When I left the care home, I didn’t step into independence. I stepped into deaper isolation. The one place that had offered even a small sense of safety was gone. There was no safe space to return to. My vulnerabilities didn’t improve, they grew. I was still a child, but suddenly I was expected to survive alone. I had no control over my life. No real choices. No power. I was completely at the mercy of the people who were exploiting and abusing me. At around 2:30 this morning, my mother Kathleen Bonfilio lost her battle with cancer. I had planned a trip for this week and I was just there last week but living 3,000 miles with responsibilities back her I away I knew there was a possibility this could happen. My godmother was by her side the whole time and it was peaceful. The last thing she said to me on Monday was I love you. I told her I would see her when I’m done here, and I plan to keep that promise. Goodbye for now, Mom. Take care of Sal and Dad for me, I’ll take care of things down here, I love you.
