the right answer to this question is to repeat over and over again THAT PALESTINIANS HAVE A RIGHT TO EXIST, rejecting the premise of the question and revealing its true function. When you cannot be so blunt and still be heard Franchesca’s pragmatic response achieves this too

so good, but additionally: even if you were to believe a state has a right to exist, it does not entail a right to exist as an ethnostate. implicit when people ask about israel is "a right to exist *as a jewish state*", which is dependent on mass ethnic cleansing in perpetuity.

States don't have a right to exist but peoples have the right to self-determination. All peoples, not just self-identified Jews and not based on land grab and ethnic cleansing of another people but based on a democratically expressed will of the people.
