A suspension is in order for that dirty and dangerous attack by Vatrano. He could’ve put robo out for 6 months with a hurt knee because he can’t control his murderous rage.

Question. I did not have the sound on as family was visiting. Guess I should find better family. 😂 How was Robertson given two minutes for slashing? I mean, I see the slash but the referees certainly didn’t catch the slash initially. Or is it possible they did? Or can they watch a replay because of the more flagrant penalty and then decide to assess the very minor penalty?

They often prefer to find a way to give both players penalties in scrums like this. It feels less risky in case they missed something.

So it sounds like the referees actually review it for optional penalties on video. Or the league does. I certainly hope that Vatrano receives whatever he should receive. He didn’t just take down Robo, he kept going after him. That, in my humble opinion, does not even closely compare to what Rantanen has been accused of. Rantanen is a large, heavy, fast moving player that has collided with others in the course of normal movement thus causing injury. The questions toward Rantanen by officials was could he have altered his normal movement thus avoiding the injury. Conversely, Vatrano came after Robertson from behind as they are both moving the same direction with nothing impeding their movement, yet Vatrano decided to go after him, from behind. In a non-competitive game situation. Wonder if he will somehow not be included in the game in Dallas in January.
