I have a theory: maybe Option C was Franklin choosing himself. He leaves Michael & Trevor to deal with their own problems. He was essentially the cleanup guy caught in a conflict that existed long before him. That's why he phones Tanisha and the credits would've just rolled.

i just took the breathing as stress, him weighing options, and then inevitably deciding that he’s his own man and (my interpretation) was going to kill both the other characters in option C
