But there should be an asterisk explaining why this is true. And the reason for this is fear.” A-players love working with other A-players because they know it will make them better. “This generation of basketball players are by far the best” What you kids dont understand is just because players have more flashy moves and shoot better (because they PRACTICE these things much more than the past) DOESN’T mean they are better players. Players today MAY have more isolated “skill” but because this is the DUMBEST generation of players it cancels out their superior skill. This right here is a PERFECT example of this, Joel is one of the most “skilled” players in the NBA but because he lacks fundamentals and a true deep knowledge of the game he often makes elementary errors on the court. Whether that is his horrible shot selection or here guarding a point guard out of position full court which is a mistake a 2nd grade player makes! (🎥 Per Sources)

SIMPLE CUES ON DEFENSE It’s so funny, these are cues that I use with the young players that I coach and develop. So they are meant to be simple. There will be players/coaches/trainers/parents at higher levels that look at this video and think it’s dumb, or too basic. Yet when I watch bad defensive players/teams at the Pro/College/HS level … they can’t keep players in front, are late in rotations, and don’t finish possessions with rebounds. So idk, maybe this is just for youth players, or maybe it’s for everyone 🤷‍♂️

WHAT DOES ‘HE’S A DIVISION 1 PLAYER’ MEAN? The landscape of college basketball is different today than it has ever been. One of the good things within all the chaos of college basketball is that a lot of the schools will be going to 15 Scholarships. Which means practice players will most likely be getting scholarships. This is a great avenue for players that are solid, that want to D1 experience and are hoping to leverage it for academics and in to their chosen career. I do believe though that players that are capable of playing at a lower D1 level, D2 or D3 are going to get yelled in to taking one of these last scholarships and end up wasting away years of playing ability bc they place such a heavy emphasis on D1. Again, no right or wrong, just a thought.
