"Because it made it easier for my men to do what they had to do. The less human you were in their eyes, the easier it was for them to perpetrate the atrocities." Franz Stangl, the commandant of the Treblinka and Sobibor extermination camps

In this famous interview, Suchomel explains how the Treblinka death machine functioned. No one is threatening or forcing him. Yet, those denialist swine remain unconvinced.

I’ve seen the whole film twice. No music, no films from the war. Just now and a cold chilling testimony

Sergeant is the English equiv/translation of SS-Unterscharfuhrer. He was at Treblinka and was convicted for his role in the Dusseldorf trial in 1965. Thanks for playing.

Czeslaw Sikorski, a Polish railway worker, on the Jews of Sokolow being driven onto trains to Treblinka: “And while they were driving them along, one woman had a dead child in her arms. I saw it. Only its legs and little hands were swinging. They just kept driving them on. [...] Anyone who fell behind was shot. They were left on the road. Later they gathered the bodies onto a cart and took them away. I don't even know where, those killed. [...] And of those who ran away, I saw one young woman who ran for almost a kilometer. They shot at her but couldn't hit her. They caught her, brought her back to the wagon and put her inside. They caught up with her on motorcycles.” It was an open secret what it meant to be sent on a train to Treblinka. A lot of the Jews knew too, and some tore out the barbed wire and jumped from the moving trains. Sikorski: “Everyone knew about that. About the persecution and deportations, that this was the end of the line. Some of the people traveling there knew, the people in those transports. While a transport was moving, they escaped, jumped out after tearing apart the barbed wire. They jumped from the moving train, at stations and along the line. The SS men stood on the wagon steps the whole time, on the footboards of the wagon, and whoever tried to escape, they shot. After a train like that passed, people lay there, killed. It wasn't only me who knew. Those people knew too, the people in Siedlce. Everyone knew. They were just waiting for it to happen.” Keep in mind deniers claim these were "transit" camps. Transit camps that smelled of burning flesh, that people would rather be shot than reach, and from which only ~70 of the ~900,000 people sent there were alive at the end of the war.
