⚠️FRAUD AT IMAX (Read full thread) 🧵👇🏻 I caught a malpractice being done at PVR Vegas Mall Delhi’s IMAX (Dual Xenon venue). They played Devara on single projection only! Yes, I know ads/trailers are supposed to run on single projector, but here, even the main feature was! (1/n)

So I went to the staff he said “Dual projector only during 3D”. I told him this is wrong, let me speak to your senior. He took me to one senior staff and he said the same thing “Dual projector only during 3D”. I said no, let me speak to your manager. The manager arrived. (2/n)

The manager argued the same thing that “Dual projector only during 3D”. This guy had a bad attitude and was trying to ridicule me, doubting my knowledge. Little did he know he is talking to a cinema-nerd. I had a heated argument with him and he finally called some tech guy. (3/n)

I go back to the audi and see they have now turned on the second projector and have started doing some sort of calibration to align the two projectors. They were vertically misaligned and projectionist tried to align because for the 1st half the projector was obviously off. (4/n)

So post interval, 2nd projector turned on. And now wait for the interesting part. He sent a junior to check with me and show that both projectors are on. I went to the manager again and asked him that what happened to his whole argument of “Dual projector only during 3D”? (5/n)

Now this manager said “No sir, both projectors were on previously too, you might not have noticed!” Incredible right? The guy who earlier argued for 15 minutes that “Dual projector only during 3D”, now LIES that second projector was always on despite of the proofs I showed! (6/n)

I told him I got proof that projector was off and you yourself were saying the same thing. And I showed the proof videos to you as well then why are you lying now? I’ll complain if you do such malpractice. He said “Kar lo jo karna hai aapko” (Meaning: Do what you wanna do”. (7/n)

So this is the state of IMAXs in India. Fraudster-noob-liars working at PVR Vegas Delhi (God knows how many more!). Charging 500+ and not even giving the true IMAX experience! They’re ruining IMAX’s reputation by fooling people and then harassing if you’re a whistleblower. (8/n)

This might be the case at chennai Luxe IMAX Devara screening, all the wide angle shots looked so blurry, pixelated and incomprehensible,

Have some shame @_PVRCinemas, this is an unacceptable behaviour
