The victim had gone to the market to buy vegetables when Shehzad Sheikh molested her for not giving change. To save herself, the Hindu woman took refuge in a Shiva Mandir. A 150-odd Muslim mob entered the Mandir premises wearing footwear, vandalized the Mandir, and threatened her not to register a case. Allegedly, the police didn't help and refused to register an FIR. Angry locals allege that Hindu residents of Hazuri have become extremely unsafe, Hindu women are being harassed, and their religious sentiments are being hurt. According to Hindu Karyakartas, this incident violated the sanctity of the Hindu Mandir, and religious tension has risen in the area.
