For those who have been asking for a translation of President Ruto’s emotional speech in Bomet on Thursday, here it is: “It’s not usual for me to speak in an informal way at a gathering like this, but allow me to say something. Aron Cheruiyot has raised a concern, asking: what has happened to our person, our president? Where is he? It’s a fair question. But let me ask you something in return. I am not at home resting. I am out here fighting a battle. And let me be honest with you, you have made my work difficult. I have been going across the country, even kneeling before other communities, asking for their votes because I must secure enough support. I cannot continue to suffer in silence because I am ashamed of what people will say or where this video might reach. At this stage, I NEED HELP because I am HOPELESS Please help me , you shall not lack.
