Brother. You are bout that life. Also that garlic looks so fragrant and potent. Haters will say freezing compromises the essence of garlic or make it go bad or turn and they don’t know what they’re talking about.

I used to be a jarred minced garlic guy until I realized that out of every prep task in the kitchen I just don’t like peeling garlic, so I compromised and started buying peeled garlic and haven’t looked back.

I buy pre peeled garlic from Costco or Asian market then do the mincing and freezing. Same. Nobody likes peeling.

i’ve been doing this this entire year i’m never going back (to peeling and chopping 3 garlic cloves for a single dish)

You are upgraded. I’ll be honest I just mince pounds of garlic and freeze them in take out pint containers. Then just scoop it out like ice cream but the flat cube ice garlic is so much more storage friendly.

Jarlic aside, any minced garlic is a bad idea for that basting move, they will be infusing the steak with acrid burned garlic flavor. Crushed cloves don't even need to be peeled, it's not any more effort than taking a jar out of the fridge

This.

Scoring the bag like that to make little individual squares is genius

The entire process is very relaxing and doesn’t take as long as you’d think especially after the first time and second time you won’t go back but this is for households that use a lot of garlic otherwise not worth it tbh
