In New York, I met with executives from leading U.S. energy, finance, and insurance companies, as well as U.S. Agency for International Development Administrator Samantha Power and U.S. Michael J. Rigas Richard Verma. The primary focus was on preparing Ukraine's energy system for the winter. We discussed our plans in detail, as well as the possibility of implementing joint projects in the energy sector. I am grateful for all the support provided to our people and the Ukrainian energy sector.

When I interviewed for this job last December and was awaiting the outcome of the interview, my wife started ordering clothes and different shoes for me. She said they are strictly for my new job o 😂 I told her I have not even passed yet and will rate myself just about 70/100 and what if there are other people that performed better? She told me as long it’s what I want, I’ll get it. In her words, “I have told my God there is nothing you desire you won’t get”. 🫢 Starting the role next week.🫰

In #Rome to meet with my friend and counterpart Antonio Tajani. We discussed the Canada–Italy relationship and ways to strengthen cooperation for the benefit of both our economies and people, building on the Italy–Canada Roadmap for Enhanced Cooperation launched in June 2024. With this visit, I will have travelled to all G7 countries since assuming my role as Minister of Foreign Affairs. I also brought him some #TeamCanada Olympic gear. 🇨🇦🇮🇹
