My mom would go on all of my field trips and one of my favorite things about it was shopping for lunch stuff the morning of to pack our big cooler. Some kids weren’t sent with lunches so whether they were in my group or not we always had extras for that reason. My mom also made sure they could get something from the gift shop. That instilled in me to have friends who moved the same way. You didn’t need money to be invited. They’d give you their last $5. And if we had to pool money together so everyone could participate, that’s what we did.
