WOW... JUST WOW!!! The Cockroach Janta Party's lawyer is arguing that the Police should not record protestors in a public place because it allegedly violates their “privacy” and their “fundamental right” to air their grievances without being treated like criminals. Read that again. They're claiming a right to privacy... at a public protest, even as videos from the protest show abuse being hurled and incidents of violence. So now, public protests are meant to be public only for the vile abusive slogans, but not for the accountability. Good going!!🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Over sharing attracts nazar. There is barakah in privacy. In Kashmir it’s lately become normal to record intimate moments of marriage ceremonies & put it out on social media. From capturing a groom putting his bride on the loudspeaker announcing the departure of his baraat to a mother gifting her son the Quran while he offers namaz - every memory not meant to be shared is instead recorded for social media consumption. There was a time when shadis were rooted in simplicity. Now it’s gradually being reduced to a Tamasha that violates that privacy of your own spouse, their families & your deepest private moments. Please think twice - Privacy is power. Social media clicks and viral videos help event managers to gain traction but take away your privacy. These memories remain on Instagram, Facebook & WhatsApp forever for posterity. There is barakah in privacy. Always best to protect relationships that are closest to you. Especially as you embark on a new journey with a person who you will raise a family & spend the rest of your life with.

Canadians have fought to protect their privacy before and they're doing it again. In 2003, public pressure stopped a proposal that would have allowed law enforcement to read Canadians' mail without a warrant. Now, as Parliament studies Bill C-22, one question stands out: Why would the Public Safety Committee try to stop the Privacy Commissioner from testifying? Privacy rights aren't Liberal or Conservative. They're Canadian. Canadians deserve to hear the evidence and make up their own minds!
