I rewatched The Insider with my dad this weekend & every time I rewatch this movie, the better it gets. This is absolutely Michael Mann’s second best film and this inches closer to Heat with every revisitation. Every last corner of this movie is fucking prefect. Pacino/Crowe/Plummer are so damn good. It’s not just the story, the script itself holds up so well. And then there’s Mann, who laces this movie with close-ups that bring up close to each character’s paranoia. I just can’t believe this film’s quality.

Clue is on my weekend rewatch list because I need some Tim Curry in my life. I love this film for two reasons: the cast & the script. The dialogue is hilarious, razor-sharp and holds up exceptionally well decades after the film’s release. This movie still makes me laugh. Not only that, ensembles don’t really get better than this? Curry leads a group of actors that includes Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Martin Mull, and Michael McKean. Get me to the weekend already.

The Furious has been on my watchlist for a minute but I felt like this had an extremely brief theatrical window. Nevertheless, I blame myself for not seeing this in theaters. With that said, tonight’s the night I’m finally catching this movie- a movie countless people have told me I need to see. I’ll report back with my review on this here app later this weekend. Wish me luck.
