Everyone talks about Bo Jackson or Neon Deion when it comes to the best football & baseball athletes but I’d include Todd Helton in this discussion but it would have to be college football of course. I bet he could’ve been a great NFL QB too John Elway was recruited by the yanks

We missed out on Todd Helton vs Brady. The world is cruel

I was there. And he looked like a HOF candidate that day, then his baseball team took on Clemson that next spring and I had Todd’s dad calling on the radio station asking for score updates. I’m that many years old.

This is WILD for anybody approximately 28-32 years old to hear. Older folks say “duh” and younger kids don’t know who Todd Helton is.

Peyton Manning was a freshman and helton was a senior at the time so not uncommon for a freshman to ride the bench in thier freshman year to learn the system first

He was an awesome player. I always imagined catching a homerun ball. Closest I ever got was at Coors field. One of Helton's rockets to the bleachers in right. I reached for it, but involuntarily pulled away as it smashed the seat two away. Saved myself a few broken bones.
