He also compared the current market to two specific years: "We are right now rising closer to, not at, the same level in 2000 and the same level in 1929, a specific level where you say, oh no, here's the one that we really need to worry about." On all tech revolutions: "All great technology changes produce bubbles. And the reason they produce bubbles is because nobody can get it exactly right." On the mechanism that pops bubbles: "There's a bubble, and then there's the pricking of the bubble. The pricking of the bubble happens when there's a need for wealth to be sold to get the money." On the wealth gap that comes with it: "A very small percentage of the population is going to do unbelievably and a lot of people won't." It's unbelievable. And then, of course, his engineering team is extraordinary. The software team is great, the networking team is great, the infrastructure team is great. Elon understands this deeply. And from the moment that we decided to go, the planning with our engineering team, then all of the infrastructure, all of the logistics and the mount of technology and equipment that came in on that day, to training, 19 days. Incredible. So, I think what Elon Musk and the X team did, and I'm really appreciative that he acknowledges the engineering work that we did with him and the planning work and all that stuff, but what they achieved is singular. The AI bubble argument has the causality backwards. Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman was in the 1990s fiber optic wave. He knows what a bubble looks like. In fiber, supply was built ahead of demand - companies bet on a future that hadn't arrived. AI infrastructure is the opposite: data centers can't be built fast enough to meet demand that is already here. Cerebras has $25B in backlog. NVIDIA has a backlog. AMD has a backlog. That is not a bubble. That is a queue. If you are short AI infrastructure on bubble thesis, Feldman's framing is the counter-argument you need to engage with. What i'm not ok with is the person saying their system is more optimized and modular while this one is not. So, I added a bubble counter and a way to convert bubbles to walkspeed. The only way I could see to further optimize it was by making all the bubbles massless.
