I’m working from a small village in north east India this week. Place took me 4 modes of transport and 24 hours to get to. Everyone knows everyone here. To a degree that you can step out and everyone will invite you to their house for tea/black coffee because they know you’re someone’s guest. All the houses here have their own private ponds. Fishing is a thing. Growing your own veggies is a thing. People are cooking together today for some festival. Men are cutting vegetables. Women are cooking. People take turns to serve food while others eat. Saw a snake casually chilling by a pond. Nobody budged. This place is like the Australia of India. Messi is really popular here. I’ve met a kids named Messi. Someone from the village paid 10 lakh for a selfie with Messi when he came to Kolkata Rock music has its own fan base in the village children. Arctic monkeys is really popular. So is stranger things. They’re looking at me work on my laptop asking me if this is how I’ll spend all my time. The most interesting day one I’ve had at anyplace in a while.

My DMs and notifications are blowing up from this slide situation. Here are my final thoughts. In every quarterback room I was in, we were taught to slide early (like way too early) and if you don’t, then you have to dive. Diving is the only way to protect yourself unless you decide to slide way before a defender is near you. Watch how Brock Purdy plays if you have questions about this. When he scrambles, he does a great job of deciphering slide versus dive situations. Niners fans see it every week. I’m not taking away from the fact that Trevor’s head injury is terrible, but we see this every other week with late hits on QB’s and when you have a guy running 18+ mph at you that has trucked defenders before, that’s a weird situation to be in. I’m not saying that Al-Shaiir was innocent, because he wasn’t, but I am saying that quarterbacks should be responsible with making it no doubt for defenders in split second situations. Trevor was clearly trying to get the first down and then slide. And we’ve also seen him people in the past. So I’m not buying the narrative that Trevor is a non-scrambling quarterback that slides all the time and that defenders should treat him that way. Happy to have a discussion leaving big feelings out of it :)

This clip between Pau Cubarsí and Lamine Yamal in the World Cup final is something I’ll never forget. For a moment, they weren’t world champions, they were just two young kids who couldn’t believe the dream they had chased became reality. And the crazy part? They’re nowhere near their peaks yet. The World Cup pressure is gone and from now on they can play the next tournaments with even more freedom, hunger and belief. This experience will only elevate them. Lamine came into this tournament not even at 100%, yet in the final he showed the maturity of a veteran. The winning goal summed him up perfectly attracting 2-3 defenders, creating space, making the right decision, and allowing Porro to finish the story. Two kids. One academy. One club. Same nation. A legacy for both just beginning.

The past week has been a rollercoaster of emotions. 1) In court again after the Government appealed against my freedom despite the 3-0 Appeal court decision in my favor. I trust Allah’s plans & will leave my fate in his wise hands. My integrity is not for sale. 6 years & counting, and i never once delayed the trial, never once negotiated my freedom through Political masters & never once lost faith that Malaysia is worth fighting & dying for. 2) From court, straight down to Muar. I am privileged to be given the opportunity to serve the good people of Muar. Despite not getting any support on Peruntukan Kebajikan, i have fundraised millions for Muar, thanks to all of you. Latest, another RM2.5million fundraised for Muar. Macam nak menangis pun ada 🥹 3) Dari Muar terus ke Switzerland bersama @kedaicincinampang . I’ll be here for 8days. Photoshoot, video-shoot and more. At first i was struggling to pay for my legal fees. Ya la, kerajaan kalah & merayu guna duit cukai rakyat.
