Aneesh, my dear Dalit friend, is getting married today. Despite immense family pressure that led him to convert to Christianity, Aneesh has always remained respectful towards Hinduism and Hindu gods. He never spoke against Hindus or our traditions. Even today, he continues to draw inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita and upholds the values of the Indian Constitution. Though saddened by the conversion pressures from his family, he has chosen to perform his wedding rituals according to Hindu customs, including this beautiful Haldi ceremony. This reflects his deep inner connection to his roots. May God bless Aneesh and his new journey. I love his passion, his determination, and of course, his mission, which I also share. I love that he wants to tell this story in film, in a book, and by using social media. I love that the idea of a deeply meaningful life can apply to any and everyone, even and especially those living with dementia. Back in September 2023, I got to spend an unforgettable W15H experience in Nashville with an incredible young man named Trenton and his amazing family. And let me tell you, his life, his attitude, and his faith left a lasting impact on all of us. Trenton was born with cerebral palsy, and while that brings some real challenges physically, cognitively, and day to day, you’d never know it by the way he shows up in this world. He’s full of gratitude. He’s full of purpose. And he’s quick to remind anyone around him of this simple but powerful truth: God is able. Trenton lives out Ephesians 3:20–21 every day. He believes that God can do more than we could ever ask or imagine and he’s living proof of that kind of faith. No matter what you’re facing today, I hope Trenton’s story encourages you like it encouraged me. God is able. And He’s not done writing your story either.
