The driver's at fault. no question. Careless driving. But the cyclist has to be aware that this may happen. I would never underpass a vehicle at a left turn. Sooner or later, you're going to come across a driver like this. It shouldn't be like this, but it's self-preservation.

That was the fault of the Mercedes. (1) clearly did not check their mirrors, and indicated far to late. They should of indicated way before entering the junction.

Car is already turning left BEFORE indicating (and it would appear before checking the wing mirror). These are the TWO driving errors right here on screen. Cork city, Ireland, for those who cannot recognise Irish licence plates.

Manoeuvre, signal, mangle?

Signaling after making the turn, driver must be from California.

I signal early, shoulder check, and then turn.

Bad driving would have been helpful for the cyclist to be visible and not to stay in the drivers blind spot we have to take our own safety precautions

It would not only be helpful if the driver signaled their intentions, it's the law. The cyclist would have been visible for at least 7 seconds beforehand to the driver if they had bothered to check their mirrors, so your blind spot argument falls flat on its face.
