Meanwhile in Birmingham, a small group of masked counter-protesters spilt off from the larger gathering in Victoria Square to confront the Britain First protesters by the Grosvenor Casino. The mood has ramped up. The police are telling them to move back from police lines.

There's another protest outside of Bell Hotel in Epping this evening. There's a crowd of about 200 here and it's gradually getting bigger. There are 3 police carriers here now and lots of chatter about where the planned counter protest is.

A large number of police have been deployed at the Karachi #MarchAgainstBalochGenocide. They are continuously threatening protestors, profiling by taking pictures & videos of them. Despite their efforts to stop the march, protestors have assured that they won't halt the protest.

Very ugly scenes in Epping tonight. Essex Police have seemingly called in help from the British Transport Police to try and manage the situation. The counter protesters are effectively penned in, and have been pelted with rocks, eggs and flour. The anger amongst the crowd is palpable. We're at a stand off and traffic through Epping, past the Tower School, is currently going nowhere.

We are now in the absurdist position in this country where standing with a sign that states the law will get you carted off by the police. The authorities should have protected his right to counter protest. Instead they aggressively removed him. Shocking.

🚨BREAKING: The police have now issued another section 40 dispersal order at the Britannia hotel and are arresting protesters who are refusing to leave. The police are REFUSING to let people excersise their legal right to protest. Disgusting.

Masked trans activists from Trans Kids Deserve better — the ones who released crickets at the LGB alliance conference — shout ‘HRT, HRT, over the counter and for free’ in counter protest against adults, lesbians and gay men who are concerned about the puberty blocker trial, set to go ahead under Wes Streeting Why are they masked? And some wearing keffiyehs? It’s still a mystery.
