🇾🇪|Yemeni Armed Forces Deploy Massive Reinforcements to Taiz Heavy Equipment Seized from Tareq Afash Being Moved to the Frontline The Yemeni Armed Forces are deploying substantial military reinforcements toward Taiz, including heavy equipment and vehicles seized from the forces of Tareq Afash. The encirclement of Taiz is tightening. A Torrent of Steel Moving from Coast to Mountains A significant portion of this reinforcement equipment was captured on the West Coast. After the Yemeni Armed Forces took control of Al-Makha in September 2026, Tareq Afash’s "National Resistance" and "Republican Guard" forces abandoned the weaponry and equipment from approximately 31 military camps and outposts during their retreat. This inventory included around 10,500 military vehicles of various types including armored vehicles and units equipped with "Jahannam" automatic artillery as well as 11,000 Dragunov sniper rifles. Additionally, seven military aircraft and thousands of reconnaissance and combat drones fell into the hands of the Yemeni Armed Forces. A substantial amount of this equipment is now being transported to the Taiz frontline. The situation in Taiz is clear. The Yemeni Armed Forces are advancing simultaneously from multiple directions: On the Al-Shamayatayn front, the Yemeni Armed Forces have secured control over Jabal Haradh, Jabal Qardad, and several villages; Saudi-backed forces retreated toward Jabal Samdan and Jabal Ashah before the encirclement could be completed. On the Jabal Habashi front, fighting continues in the Adinah and Jarf areas. The Yemeni Armed Forces are pouring reinforcements into this sector in preparation for a final assault on Jabal Habashi itself. In the direction of Bani Muhammad, the Yemeni Armed Forces advanced simultaneously along two axes: capturing towns in the Al-Zaazi and Al-Masahin areas from the south, and seizing Bani Shaybah Ash Sharq and Jabal Al-Maqarmah from the north. According to *Drop Site News*, the siege perimeter around Taiz spans approximately 20 kilometers in diameter; the primary area still controlled by Saudi-backed forces is Jabal Sabir the highest mountain in Taiz Governorate, rising over 3,000 meters above sea level. Why War Must Be Avoided in Taiz The chain of command among Saudi-backed forces in Taiz is fracturing. In recent days, several brigade-level commanders have been killed, wounded, or captured. The operations chief of the 35th Armored Brigade was killed in action on the Al-Aqrud front, while the commander of the Taiz Special Security Forces was captured in the Al-Salw district. However, Taiz is a city home to hundreds of thousands of civilians. It has already endured a partial siege for years, with residents facing restricted movement, soaring prices, and a lack of medical care. If fighting spills into the urban center, civilians will bear the cost. The Yemeni Armed Forces' advance on Taiz is not intended to destroy the city. Controlling supply lines, cutting off access for foreign-backed proxy forces, and driving the aggressors out of Taiz these are the military objectives. If the Saudi-backed forces choose to lay down their arms, Taiz can avoid a bloody urban battle. Peace in Taiz depends on whether the Saudi-backed proxy forces acknowledge a simple fact: they are fighting a losing war, a war that does not belong to the Yemeni people. Long live the Yemeni Armed Forces. Long live Ansar Allah. Long live the Yemeni resistance.
