Interesting The states produced the same amount every year since the 70's and never expanded production

China’s Great Leap Forwward was the deadliest famine in human history, killing an estimated 50 million people. The idea that China, in 1962, was the fourth largest producer of fruit in the world is absurd. Chinese were eating tree bark then, and worse.

Purposefully slow video dude, not cool

Having spent a lot of time working in China, I suspect nearly all the fruit grown there is eaten there, as the Chinese eat a lot of fruit. Much of China, especially the eastern part due to its topography, is well suited to growing fruit - not so great for growing grains though.

China and India do play a huge role in global economy.

Look at the grain production version of this. The fruit production dropped off because of EPA regulations on pesticides.

Turkiye is 4th which is a great result

Considering the vast amount of land in the US, it's patheteic how little is used to produce fruits. Also, a significant portion of the fruit that is grown, such as apples and oranges, is primarily processed into sugary juices. 🤦♂️

Quality has gone noticeably way Down. Makes sense.

I think California is the leader in fruits
