Russian propagandist Olezhich has fled Russia and is asking for US help. A former active participant in propaganda broadcasts and an "expert" on anti-Western shows, Viktor Olezhich, left Russia after pressure from the FSB. According to him, the security forces came to his home twice - in December and at the beginning of February - with direct threats. The reason was allegedly his refusal to cooperate with the FSB and his unwillingness to obtain Russian citizenship. Olezhich stated that despite having "information sensitive to the state", the pressure continued and became systematic. He is currently in Greece and has appealed for help to the US State Department. Previously, Olezhich regularly appeared on Russian propaganda programs "Time Will Tell" and "Meeting Place", and also positioned himself as an expert of the Center for Current Politics, known for his harsh criticism of the "Russophobic West".

On Russian support he said: "Indeed, Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to provide us with all the necessary resources to fight terrorism, including military personnel. But I have always said: we are Burkina Faso. No one will come to fight for us, and that is a non-negotiable principle."
