FSD Supervised v14.1 final thoughts and Hardware 3 discussion. We need to know.

@TeslaBoomerMama Thanks Chuck for the V14 info and for speaking on our (HW3) behalf. Does V14 on HW4 avoid potholes? Our roads here in MA are littered with them and HW3 hits them all.

My guess is Tesla will leapfrog HW3 cars to HW5 next year If not, they should offer a full credit towards the purchase of a new Tesla vehicle equivalent to the price originally paid for FSD outright There are ~400K Teslas around the world on HW3 with FSD purchased outright

This 100%. Tesla needs to just rip the band-aide off with HW3. If there’s a plan to move these owners into better hardware, great. If not, just let everyone know so they can prepare for what they want to do. I really think whatever Tesla decides to do is totally fine. Anytime you buy tech, even on the cutting edge or beta, you know there’s a strong possibility it will be made obsolete in the near future. That’s the risk you take. Any bone Tesla throws HW3 owners will be appreciated. But in my opinion they owe them nothing. I’m currently on a HW3 Model 3 Performance.

Thank you for advocating for HW3 owners! My 2020 M3 runs so well, it is paid off, I love it, and I do not need a newer car with years of monthly payments. I have invested $10K in FSD because Tesla promised it will be capable. My FSD hardware just needs to upgraded.

How can they be more clear. Ppl who bought FSD on HW3 will get a free upgrade when UNSUPERVISED FSD is solved. That’s already been clearly addressed. The roadmap is clear and they’re executing on it right now.

Thank you, Chuck! I have a 2022 model S with HW3 and I’ve been asking that question and wondering what they’re going to do for us. For me the only real solution would be changing the hardware in my car over to HW4 or offering me a free upgrade to FSD on my next car regardless of when that would be. It’s a struggle for me because as you said, I have helped to bring this process along for over the past three years. I really love my car and would rather not trade it in, but I want FSD available to me at some point.

FSD transfer is not an acceptable remedy. You should not have to buy another whole damn car to make good on the promise of the original $40k+ purchase. Refund of the full vehicle price or retrofit are the only acceptable options when you so confidently and repeatedly tell the public the linked statement. People made vehicle purchase decisions based on these public statements that occurred at investor focused functions, as well as from the official company blog. The previous defense Tesla has used of "corporate puffery" is not applicable when statements are made at investor focused events and through official company communication channels. And to be clear, this needs apply to all FSD users, full purchase or subscription. The purchase requirement made sense with the original AP2 cars, as there was no subscription at the time to allow users to use their vehicles with a service. At the point that Tesla created the FSD subscription, people could make vehicle purchase decisions based on that knowledge. I am a prime example of this. I owned a 2015 Model S 85D that was running perfectly fine. I did not need a new vehicle. If it were not for the available subscription service and the promises that FSD (read: unsupervised FSD) would work on the 2022 Model 3 that I purchased, I never would have purchased that vehicle. I would have waited for a vehicle I could be assured would do so. I very much appreciate you raising this awareness though. While 12.6.4 has been very good on my car, it is far from ready to be unsupervised, and I want to know what I can expect going forward. And you can bet your ass I won't purchase another Tesla before AI5 due to the treatment HW3 owners have received. We know the score now. We must treat these cars like computers, regardless of any promise Tesla may make.

I really hope this rolls out fast! Super eager to start doing my own testing!

I’m in the camp of keeping things for a while so I want the upgrade. It would be nice to know soon what the roll out is for that.

Thank you Chuck for raising this issue again on behalf of HW3 owners. I have a refreshed MS (HW3) with FSD. It drives good but nothing like what how it drives on AI4. I will be willing to pay for Tesla to upgrade us to AI4/AI5 and cameras to get "real" FSD. Hope V14 on my CT works as good as on your MY.

Exactly. At least update HW3 12.6.4. Allow users to switch between autosteer and fsd in motion..camera cabin for alertness no stupid scroll wheel. Fix the damn slow speed it was better b4 12.6.4.

Appreciate the video and the plug regarding HW3. I’m paying $99 a month for a subscription for v12.6.4 which is the exact same price for a v14 subscription which is ridiculous since v12 is clearly an inferior product. I hope @elonmusk and @Tesla are listening.

At this point Tesla's crap behavior has forever lost me as a customer. I paid $12k for FSD and they can't be bothered with bug fixes for almost a year, let alone any communications! I will steer anyone I can away from the brand by telling them my story!
