Stan is very right in this interview. Spider-Man is absurdly popular in Asia and Latin America because of what he's talking about.

@The_Acumen Interesting comic factoid: sometimes the creators of certain comic characters admit that that some of the characters they created were intended to be not white but they were overruled. A perfect example is Legion of Superheroes character Ferro Lad.
