I once saw a post about how humans should be uncanny cryptids in fantasy. We're slightly like every other race, but also unmistakably different. We succeed at everything and excell at nothing. We're adaptable beyond all reason. We even live short enough lives that push us to invest in future generations while others lean on thier longevity alone.

I believe a large amount of people who play as fantasy races dont like who they are. Me I always play human because I insert myself into that games world for immersion. That character is an avatar of me, last I checked I ain't go pointy ears.

The only mmo that put a nice twist to humans is Guild Wars, they are not native to the world, they are aliens. Still like humans in almost all rpgs.
