It seems like this post got more attention than I anticipated! For those wondering, I'm de-making an animation I created a few years ago using Blender. The goal was to match the art style and look of the Smash Ultimate cutscenes. Check it out!

This is what super Mario would look like if @nintendo hired me and they used unreal engine like a REAL video game company.

The top one is obviously better lol. Way more expressive and way more true to the esthetics and source material compared to the ai overly realistic sloppy bottom one lmao

I genuinely can't tell which one is supposed to be the original but the top one has so much charm compared to the bottom one

I originally made the bottom as a "first episode" of sorts for a smash series I'm working on. I also really like the n64 look so I thought I'd make that one as well
