Freaking nailed it! It was a triage thing, and unfortunately for the fans, the players on the field had to be the low priority in this situation (which is ironic, because it’s ALWAYS been the low priority for ownership—by design).

I feel for the A's players, but I stopped giving my money & my attention to John Fisher's team when they left. I'm glad others have also. I'm really glad they've noticed. #fjf

The players rarely have any real connection with the fans. The players are transient. They don't really belong to any club. Rooker's comments are misplaced in part because he's in a player bubble. The game is so much more than the players themselves.
