My car is very sensitive post map and will miss fire if filled with anything other than 99 octane... Have noticed a few missfires this morning with a tank full of momentum...

I heard it’s the new E10 fuel, burns faster but less fumes and it’s bad for the engine.

This is definitely happening. I have lived in my area for about twenty years and I've used all the petrol stations in the area. There is one I use the most because not only is it the best priced, it's also just down the road from my house. I'm happy to use all the other ones in the region bar one, because I have no issues. But there is ONE petrol station that every now and then, maybe once a year, I'm forced to use, and I say forced because I would never use it if another one was an option eg due to closing times. Over a fifteen year period I have noticed that, without fail, my fuel consumption randomly skyrockets every single time I use fuel from that particular forecourt. I am talking roughly a 15mpg drop in my car's performance. It's insane. Volume-wise my tank will tell me I have however many miles in the tank. When using my usual petrol station I get about 4/5s of that, because I like to floor it sometimes. But every time I use this one specific place, that goes down to about half. When I'm driving I will watch my fuel range deduct 3 miles in real time as I drive 700 yards down the road at 60mph. It's insane. This company is one of one in my area and it's total irony that I had to use it three days ago having not used it in over a year, and I'm getting the same problems as I always have. So mad that this post has appeared. I know for a fact they are using sub-standard fuel, they've been doing it for years, but because I can't prove it there's no point taking it any further.

It's not a conspiracy theory or a secret, they are adding more and more ethanol to Petrol, so yes they are "watering it down" in that respect. When they brought out E10, 10% was the limit, but in reality they were only adding 3-5%, now they are actually adding 10%

Same noticed this last week my car was literally drinking it, range counted down like I've never seen before, we are being shafted left right and centre 🤬

It’s called E10 it’s ethanol and it’s been going on for quite a few years now. But to be honest, it sounds like your engine is changing and beginning to become a bit more thirsty . There is 1 million reasons to as why this is on a mechanical basis. But yes, 10% and has been for around 2/3 years, Before that it was E5 aka 5% They say it’s good for the environment, but in reality it’s a money thing. Fuel goes off quicker with it and it pulls moisture into fuel tank from air if sitting for 10+ months. Ending up with water in tank. It’s also corrosive as fuck, destroys older engines with metal fuel pump housings etc. Stuff pre 2010

My four years of driving 🤣🤣 guy has no clue we use to fill our cars for a tena. And yes they introduced a new petrol if you all remember, do you honestly think they would make the newer petrol give you more miles to the galon 🤣

They are using the full 10% of Ethanol.

Full tank getting 60-100 miles less for the same journeys.
