One UI, including One UI 8.5, has a long-standing issue with the back gesture: lag. My finger moves, but the animation lags and doesn't follow the finger's response. This puts it behind all other OSes. Comparing One UI 8.5 with vivo's OriginOS5 and OriginOS6 reveals that Samsung's gesture response is the slowest, and I haven't been able to resolve the issue with Home Up. Samsung needs to optimize this. Another problem is that the icons in Samsung's animation are too ugly when they are shrunk. The icons are forcibly stretched to cover the page. Samsung borrowed this from OriginOS 5 at the time, but vivo fixed the problem in OriginOS6, and Samsung One UI 8.5 still has no improvement.

In India Samsung can sell poorly optimised laggy UI phones, provide 2 year old specs and also put a big ad banner in your main home screen UI. No one will have a problem, most of the people will buy these phones even when they know they will get a green line issue later.

There is a "flash" bug in the One UI 7 Beta1 animation. In fact, there are at least three versions of this problem. Samsung seems to have not found it, so it has not been solved. This GenZ app prints $100K/mo and it’s literally just a glorified widget. The app syncs your lock screen with your “bestie or partner” That’s it.. This video alone got 9M views for an app called Ustwo They built the viral features right into the app. And now they can just spam this format to keep scaling. Keep this in mind when building your product. ( viral features )

Experienced the new Galaxy S26 Ultra at the #GalaxyUnpacked event in Delhi thanks to Samsung India Big highlight is that Privacy Screen, it's implemented very well, can switch it on/off, selective blocking etc. S26 Ultra feels a lot lighter to hold, has to be best weight balanced Ultra till now. Now supports 60W wired charging & 25W wireless. I'll try to post my quick first impressions video by tomorrow evening.

Compared to Gemini, I much prefer using ChatGPT. One of the key reasons is that Gemini’s app has a terrible launch experience , it almost has no transition animation at all. It just flashes onto the screen with no visual continuity, which feels awful. I honestly can’t understand how a company like Google would let such an obvious UX bug ship in a production product.

This is how you can personalize sports and finance on Perplexity today. This way, when your favorite team is about to play a game, you didn’t have to go search. Live action widget just takes over your Lock Screen. Similar things planned for earnings calls for the finance watchlist. More personalization and customization are being worked on and coming in March. Idea is for you to not even have to think of asking stuff. The AI should just do that work for you and give it to you without any effort.

oh yeah heres a better look at the animation that plays when going from lyrics to chair section you can barely see it in game and the duplicate hand on the chair is covered by the "Shucks" graphic so i never fixed it (it would be a really easy fix tho)

So if the future Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra really removes the 3x telephoto camera, it could actually improve the video zoom experience further.
