To do surveillance in Sambisa Forest means the FG would be doing surveillance over an area equivalent to Belgium, Denmark, and Switzerland in terms of land size, considering the resources we have at hand. The same Sambisa Forest is smaller in land size than Niger State. These criminal elements exploit these ungoverned spaces. That’s why Mr. President initiated the forest ranger program, which will help curb those who are using our forests for illicit purposes.”

Nature is in crisis. And the cause of the decline in nature is not the concreting over the country, it's not the climate crisis, it's our food choice. Farming takes about 75% of our farmland - we grow plants, to feed animals, to feed people. If we remove farmed animals from that equation, we can give a massive 50% of the land back to nature. We can reverse this crisis by rethinking what we eat - Less animals, more plants...:)

20-second journey from then to now: Arxan's one-million-mu planted forest Arxan, at the southwestern foot of the Greater Khingan Mountains in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, once suffered from decades of excessive logging, leading to a sharp decline in forest resources and a steadily worsening ecological environment. In 2012, Arxan completely halted commercial logging in its natural forests, shifting its development model from logging to protection.
