Game dev Cakez77 and his wife react after finding out his game earned $250,000 after going viral

Wow, thank you for posting about this again. Unreal what's been happening the last few days. I feel like I don't deserve it. But I'm grateful for the support. ❤

🐐🐐🐐

He is the goat

That hug hit different because she probably watched him build it for years before anyone else cared.

🍾 😎Congrats Cakez77

He originally burst into tears after seeing his Steam sales for the first time

The Internet is a wonderful place 🩷 W

A King and his Queen!

Based I'm glad when Indie devs succeed I'm tired of Triple A slop and AI gimmicks I just want good games made by real people with real art and real passion, I am a Gamer and we are the most oppressed minority.

Steam link for the lazy:

$250k is great until Steam takes 30%, the IRS takes 30%, and you realize you’ve been living on ramen for three years to get here.

So people just bought it to support and then only some play it?

German tax collectors had exactly the same reaction seeing this

*$138,000 after Valve's cut. The $250K is prior to sales/VAT tax collected and refunds. The $198K is the amount split between Valve and the developer. Probably ~$100K after income taxes.

Everyone said indie game dev was a lottery with terrible odds. Cakez77 said "actually, I'll just make the thing." $250K later, his wife is crying too. Build the thing.

Absolutely based! Congratulations

You've earned this~ Huge congrats!

this guy won at life

"Um, ackshually, after taxes he'll only make-" SHUT UP and let them be happy. If you see a lovely moment and that's your first thought, you're an unwholesome bastard.

Men only need a supportive, loving and loyal woman in life thats it

We all need to eat in this world so we all must feel happy for him and his family! and all the love we give returns back to us!

Imagine building a tiny game then suddenly realizing it just casually paid your yearly salary in one wild weekend

That moment when years of work finally pay off. Absolutely beautiful. ❤️🎮

All you need to know about “Tangy TD”

And that's what the gaming community does best: trash-talking, hard-hitting yet humble and empathetic. They change lives.

things we love to see!!!

The game is fun and challenging for those interested!

Well deserved & more! Thank you for your hard work ✨

Aafter taxes hes still taking home like $120k-140k. Good return he can pay off whatever debts they have and invest the rest into another game.

Im surprised but also relieved that the comments are this wholesome. Faith in humanity restored!

claude recreate this game but make it even better. make sure you earn atleast $1m. make no mistakes.

Wife so supportive she can’t hide it
