Considering Brock's seen Ash in action for far longer, I like this touch that Misty's shocked that Ash can pull off such insane tactics but it's nothing Brock himself hasn't already seen before.

The Brock battle right before this one is probably the best Brock battle in the entire series.

they actually keep this lore in Horizons and go a step further, making it a way Pikachu can use the move Fly. First it makes a lightning tornado on purpose, then it climbs the tornado and flies through the air

opinion: the SM era of pokemon is the most unwatchable in the series (and i got sick of dawns no need to worry and iris` youre such a kid acts pretty quickly). the decision to drastically change the art style baffles me still to this day.
