"It helped me kind of separate my identity from being a baseball player to being a Christian and a believer, trying to share the word." That separation is everything. When your identity is in your performance, a tough game shakes you to the core. When your identity is in Christ, a tough game is just a tough game. It does not define you. It does not diminish you. It cannot take anything from you that actually matters. Griffin is not waiting until he makes it to the big leagues to share his faith. He is sharing it now, in the minors, in the middle of the grind, in the tough games where most young players are just trying to survive. That is exactly where the gospel is most powerful.
