Umpire here: Called a foul ball but the play went on as if it was fair…causing the “excitement”. For all the iPhone umpires out there, we don’t have the angle as the plate umpire..bottom line.

The game winning run was never overturned. The ball was immediately dead when they called foul. Everything else after that is just fluff. Easiest foul ball call ever. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Hopefully it was the plate umpire calling it foul. Base umpire never has fair/foul in front of the cut out. U3 had no view of it. Hopefully, he was just mirroring the plate umpire.

Was never overturned because the run never happened. Ball had been declared dead. “Robbed” maybe. In any case, that is not the third base umpire’s call regardless if it ended up being right or wrong (it was close as to where the fielder touched it), that call prior to the ball reaching a bag is the home plate umpire’s call. Third base umpire assumed the heavy backspin the ball had on it easily carried it foul before being touched.

The ball hit fair and then was touched, that’s a fair ball

You cannot really tell where it is when it is touched. Funny thing is if they throw the kid out at third the base coach would be yelling that ball was foul

Looks foul. Hard for 3rd base ump to see behind runner. Glad it all worked out.

The umpire called it a foul immediately. It sucks, but it's not unfair at all. It's a judgment call.

Home plate umpire’s call. That’s why the coach points to him after talking to the umpire at 3rd. The guy at 3rd blew it.

What is wrong that 3rd base ump There is nothing wrong with this to have waived it off.

You can hear the ump yell foul ball immediately as the ball was fielded… tough to see from looking on a phone but he was very decisive in his call

It’s amazing there are umpires getting paid that don’t understand the rules. Unbelievably weak @uiltexas.

The coach is arguing because this *should* be the home plate umpire's call. The video doesn't show if he jumped on the foul call right away or if he just put his hands up because the 3rd base ump called it foul. Better pregaming with the umps would prevent this.

The blues are calling it foul as soon as it’s touched. Nothing to be overturned after that. 🙄🙄

I got no opinion on the foul call, because the is zero way to determine from this camera angle. But the big guy needs to waddle right on back out behind 3B as he has nothing to do with the call & can only make the situation worse by adding his input.

Ball was ruled foul immediately.

Soon will be the day that these lardass idiots will be out of the game and robots and computers will do their jobs. Plus a robot won’t be able to bet on games which more than likely is the reason for multiple thrown games

It wasn’t the game-winning run because it wasn’t “overturned.” It was ruled foul immediately, quite possibly because it was. (Can’t really know for sure from this video, but two umps with better angles than the base coach seem to be in agreement.)

Foul ball. Easy call, can’t see the plate ump it’s his call.

This is super close but it was called foul right away. Fair/foul is the home plate umpires call until it gets past the bag. The home plate umpire signaled foul immediately and I trust his call here.

For????

Only questionable portion of it I have is the 3rd base ump has no idea of the ball was in fair or foul territory with 3rd baseman completely blocking his view.

Looks like the correct call.

Not the 3rd base umpire’s call. Looks like it was correct, though. 3rd baseman sure played it like it was fair. Hmm
