Why Canada Gets to Dump Its Trash in Michigan Michigan is a cheap place to dump and Nafta made waste not subject to tariffs By Charlie LeDuff Charlie LeDuff It’s the Canadians, again. They’re literally dumping on us. Millions of tons of industrial waste pour into Michigan’s landfills every year from Canada. Enough to build two Empire State Buildings of garbage. We can’t stop it. And it’s all the fault of Nafta and the U.S. Constitution. That notorious trade deal provided the legal framework that prevents Michigan from stopping Toronto’s detritus from passing through Detroit. Under the compact, solid waste is legally classified as a “commodity.” And because that commodity—garbage—is entirely “manufactured” in North America, it avoids a tariff. All in a a few days of spare time. Custom alt momentum scanner tracking various metrics, tagging setups, break of key levels, collecting statistics in real-time. Sector flow monitor and correlation matrix. This is a hobby project which started off as building a custom funding rate arbitrage scanner to test out some new perps dex platforms. Took it a step further so I can exercise the process of creating tooling, improving on the art of providing specs and a framework to Claude, writing out to a database, tracking metrics etc. in real time. Going to continue to improve this for my own purpose but this has been the gateway to opening up the pathway of an entire world of ideas that I have been wanting to bring to life. If there is enough interest I will write an article and share my findings on the "vibe coding" process I used via Claude and what I learned through the exercise. I will say this still required a non-trivial amount of hand holding (you need to understand the problem you're looking to solve and what's going on under the hood otherwise garbage in = garbage out), providing the right framework, reassessing and debugging. The only experience I have is intermediate level python scripting in the framework of structural engineering. Much to learn still. I need to figure out how to implement unique design, improve UI/UX and figure out how to implement a more robust frontend (if you have any suggestions please feel free to comment). I have been using Claude for a year for simple tasks and scripting but this is the first time I took the time to explore further. Will document this journey as I continue to build or work on other hobby ideas. Perhaps it can inspire someone else who finds this intimidating to take the leap. Next stop - perhaps a prediction markets dashboard/tooling that ties in with Converge.

Today I've uploaded The Alfred Alfer Movie - the "feature" film that I animated from 2013-2016. This was not the movie that I originally intended to make- I typically don't write scripts but make stuff up as I go, and this ended up being a series of shorts that got stitched together chronologically. I thought it was garbage for years and didn't even release it in its completion until 2019 - Even then it's just been on my lowly Bitchute channel, in 480p. Now looking back I am somewhat proud of it, especially seeing the increase of the quality of animation over 3 years. Aside from the American Psycho opening (which was animated in 2015), the animation evolves as the movie progresses, starting out extremely crude and ending at my peak with "The Ascent of Alfred." So here it is, on Twitter for all of you. I'll probably put it on my new Youtube as well. Disclaimer: this is a very fucked up piece of animation (as that is what I do) so don't watch it if you're easily offended or angered by "degenerate" cartoons lol. It's a Comedy of Horrors - a good movie for the Halloween season if that context helps. Enjoy! : )

3/18/2026 Daily Recap: Time to rip the band aid off? - PPI came in above expectations .7% v .3% and that sent the market tumbling before the opening bell. - Jerome Powell than spoke in the afternoon and the market proceeds to roll over some more into the close. - $QQQ -1.4% aided by $AAPL $MSFT $TSLA $NVDA $AMZN all closing lower. - $ARKK looks like a bear flag about ready to breakdown. Cathy's holdings are just acting like absolute garbage. - $USO $XLE $XOP continue its tear higher. $COP $FANG $DVN $OXY $VLO $MPC $APA all higher - $MU reported incredible earnings after the close today and down a modest 1%. Not a group we want to lose here or we start running out of bull cases on this market. $SNDK $WDC - $RKLB $ASTS $KTOS all rejected their 50sma today just after it looked like a renewed trend was possible - $BTC $ETH lead the markets on the down move today but is this just some digestion before trying to resume higher? - $XLV already losing ground quickly on the back $LLY - $XLP a defensive sector also taken down quickly. - $XLF also no real signs of life which is hard to imagine we kick into a real bullish trend without financials. - $MAGS look like they need life support soon starting to establish themselves below the 200sma. - Traction remains hard to come by and for me it's been a better environment shorting into supply
