@TheUnitedWay26 It’s not the back 3 that’s an issue, it’s playing 2 in CM. You could easily play a back 3 and a midfield 3 in a 3-5-2. We are so easy to bypass and too much space between midfield and defense.

3 atb, 10atb, its all moot. D problem is the way we execute. I saw Conte walk this league playing 3 atb, same with Alonso in Germ. We played 4231 under ETH yet way too open in CM. D plyrs we require to play in such an open system dont exist. If they do, injuries will mess them up

The problem isnt uniteds back 3 they are being overrun in midfield. Fix that midfield and united will be good.

Can we just look at what is and has been pur problem probably for nearly 10years..our midfield, no solid partnership, mostly individuals good on the ball but too slow and can't defend..either too greedy and can't link properly with the forwards..ie been saying it for years

People underestimate the mental part and how much a manager influences the mentality . These players listen to him , the plan doesnt work and they lose faith . Nobody is going to run through a wall for him , and thats needed

You can play 3 at the back and 3 in midfield with wing backs and two up top so you’re not so open every game. Everyone can see the problem. It’s not necessarily 3 at the back, it’s that we don’t have the profile of midfielder to play 2 in the middle of the park and not be overrun

A back 3 is just the base of the defense. How you use the rest of the 7 outfield players dictates how the team plays. It's not a black and white formation and tactic.
