California has spent somewhere between $25 and $50 BILLION on homelessness in the last five years. The problem keeps getting worse. Why? Because the system isn't designed to solve homelessness. It's designed to keep the money flowing. The NGOs get bigger. The politicians get their donations. The unions get their cut. And the homeless? They stay on the streets — because actually solving the problem is bad for business. I've spent my entire career in mental health working with the homeless and mentally ill. I've seen it up close. The homeless industrial complex doesn't want a solution. A solution would shut off the money.

Transparent California shows over 1,000 government employees on the dole with the word "homeless" in their title. The top guy earned over half a million dollars as a "Homeless Services Division Manager." And this doesn't even begin to touch the billions we hand out to non-profits and NGOs whose sole purpose is to perpetuate homelessness by treating the problem rather than solving the problem. While campaigning, Gavin Newsom says that if the next governor doesn't do something to improve the housing affordability and homelessness situations in CA, that governor will be a failure. Gavin got elected that November. Now there's about 50% more homeless people now in CA than at the time of this video. And housing in CA has almost never been less affordable. According to Gavin Newsom, Gavin Newsom has been a complete failure as Governor of CA.

How do we allow this to happen in America? How is a 12-year-old boy left on the streets for days on end with no help offered? California had over $24 billion go unaccounted for that was dedicated to the homeless. NGOs and nonprofits receive millions for the homeless, yet the problem just gets worse and worse while children often get pulled into these horrific situations in places like Skid Row. Our tax dollars should go towards helping others instead of enriching the pockets of NGOs and nonprofits who often enable the situation to get worse.
