#BREAKING: India’s MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal Randhir Jaiswal hits out at Pakistan’s Ayodhya remarks on PM Narendra Modi Saffron flag hoisting. “We have seen the reported remarks and reject them with the contempt they deserve. As a country with a deeply stained record of bigotry, repression, and systemic mistreatment of its minorities. Pakistan has no moral standing to lecture others. Rather than delivering hypocritical homilies, Pakistan would do better to turn its gaze inwards and focus on its own abysmal human rights record.

XYXX's new ad (agency: PinkSauce Studios) is a brilliant exercise in gender-role reversal used as a comic device. But beneath the humor, it is a smart strategy to solve a unique marketing problem: how to differentiate the selling of an unsexy, utilitarian, and deeply unglamorous garment that has traditionally been sold only in one way in India - the 'macho' way? The 'macho' way of selling baniyans has always been about roping in a famous male movie star (one of the Khans, Varun Dhawan, etc.) and selling an imaginary world where men miraculously inherit a movie star's magnetism just by putting on a specific brand of baniyan. This ad takes a completely different route and forces men to think about fit and aesthetics of a garment they rarely talk about. How? By lavishing as much attention on a baniyan as women (and the world) do on a bra! By comparing it to the intense public scrutiny, "staring", judgment, and hyper-awareness surrounding women's bras, the ad forces men to look at their innerwear through a social lens. And by having a man say, 'My eyes are here' to a group of women in a public bus, the ad mines humor through subversion! Of course, I thought there was a false equivalence of scrutiny too - for women, the public policing and hyper-sexualization of bra lines or straps isn't just about "looking messy". It is tied to deeply rooted issues of modesty/moral-policing, objectification, and personal safety. For men? A visible baniyan line or a peek of fabric at the collar is just a style slip-up or a sign of being slightly old-fashioned. By equating a woman’s genuine discomfort with a man’s minor fashion embarrassment, is the ad trivializing a heavy social issue to sell an innerwear? In other words, is it suggesting that the gaze is symmetrical, when in reality, the power dynamic behind that gaze is completely different? But then, I don't think the ad is equating the danger or the systemic oppression. It is onlt using a universally understood cultural pain-point to create a surreal and absurd taboo-flip. If it makes men uncomfortable, that’s perhaps the point, because that discomfort may drive both social awareness and product consideration.

Croatian pop star Severina, once celebrated for her role in modernizing Balkan music and representing Croatia in Eurovision 2006, has now chosen to use her platform to stand with Palestine — aligning herself with a movement that often denies Israel’s right to exist and turns a blind eye to terror against Jewish civilians. As someone who built a career on Western stages and freedom of expression, it is deeply disappointing to see Severina support causes tied to groups that glorify violence and antisemitism. Artists have influence. With that comes responsibility. Severina’s selective outrage — ignoring October 7th, ignoring hostage-taking, ignoring brutal antisemitic violence — reveals a troubling hypocrisy. You can’t claim to stand for human rights while turning your back on Jewish lives. Umjetnici imaju utjecaj. S tim dolazi i odgovornost. Severinino selektivno zgražanje — ignoriranje 7. listopada, ignoriranje otmica talaca, ignoriranje brutalnog antisemitizma — otkriva zabrinjavajuće licemjerje.

I spent part of my childhood in the Middle East before immigrating to Canada in my late teens. None of my Muslim girlfriends liked wearing the hijab or niqab. Whenever they could, they took it off because they found it oppressive. If their parents found out, there would be consequences. I often helped my friends carve out a few hours of freedom at real personal risk. Some came from extremely powerful families. Had I been caught, they could have had me jailed and deported. Anyone who has actually lived in an Islamic society understands how pervasive and institutionalized the oppression is, especially for women and girls. While conditions have improved in a handful of places, the absence of genuine theological reform in Islam means many of these changes are superficial, largely designed to make life more comfortable for expatriates rather than to liberate local women. So imagine my horror when Canada began celebrating World Hijab Day which is a celebration of paternalism and the normalization of female subordination. Many naive Canadians particularly white folks are deeply naïve about Islam. A kind of white saviour multiculturalism prevails, "isn’t diversity wonderful, therefore everything associated with it must be good". Children are assumed to lack full agency. If a child says she wants to wear the hijab or niqab, an enlightened parent should say no, and revisit the question when she is an adult. The rationale behind the hijab is explicit: it exists to shield women from the male gaze. When young girls are made to wear it, they are being sexualized at an age when they should not be thinking about sexuality at all. This video is of Liberal MP Salma Zahid commemorating World Hijab Day in the House of Commons. She has blocked me for my views on the hijab.

🚨S P O I L E R — Skip this post if you don’t wanna know what’s about to happen in EP4 #4elements #เสน่หาวาโย #FreenBecky #ฟรีนเบค #srchafreen #beckysangels In the soft glow of the coastal hideaway, the sea breeze whispered through the open windows as Wayo looked at the princess sitting across from her. “In a day or two, we may have to go on the road again,” Wayo said quietly. Catherine lifted her gaze, steady and sure. “Got it. I’ll get ready.” Wayo paused, searching her face. “Blew, don’t you want to ask where I’m taking you?” A small, confident smile touched Catherine’s lips. “Because I trust your decision, Wayo. I’ll go anywhere with you.” She spoke the words with quiet certainty. She had already chosen to place her faith in the police officer who had become her protector. While they waited for news from Wathit—who was trying to find a reliable contact in Madeline to deliver word of the attack in Thailand—Catherine knew their next move had to be careful. She had come to realize that even Anthony’s royal secretary, Henry’s father, could not be fully trusted. If she wanted to reach her father, she would have to do it directly, without intermediaries. And if the worst had already happened… she believed in her heart that her younger brother Karel would rule Madeline with dignity and strength. Catherine pushed her plate forward gently. “Let’s eat.” Wayo blinked. “Did I say something wrong?” “Just eat already,” the princess replied, her tone soft but firm. “After that, we still have a lot to discuss.” Wayo glanced at the delicate-featured girl who nodded silently in return. She pushed aside her fleeting suspicions about Catherine’s sudden shift in behavior and focused on the meal before them. Yet her heart refused to settle. She kept replaying the princess’s words from the day before—words that still echoed deeply inside her. The seemingly distant and unattainable royal had said that if there was truly a gap between them, she would be the one to cross it. If she doesn’t let her heart sink too deeply into these feelings, perhaps she can avoid the pain of realizing that they don’t fit. They had told each other that their future together was impossible. And most importantly, Wayo didn’t know how much longer she would be allowed to stay next to Blew. (Wayo’s internal thoughts) Perhaps it had been nothing more than a casual remark. But for Wayo, those words carried weight. They planted a fragile seed of hope she didn’t dare nurture… yet couldn’t quite ignore.

Yesterday, on the sacred Festum Beatae Mariae Virginis Fatimae (Feast of Our Lady of Fatima), I embarked on a deeply personal pilgrimage through the spiritual heart of Catholicism here in Rome. I had the honour of visiting two extraordinary Marian sanctuaries: the Basilica Sanctae Mariae Maioris (Basilica of Saint Mary Major) and the Ecclesia Sancti Alphonsi Mariae de Ligorio (Church of Saint Alphonsus of Liguori). At Santa Maria Maggiore, the first Marian basilica in the Western Church and one of the four major papal basilicas, I was enveloped by the tranquillity of its sacred halls. Here lies the tomb of our beloved His Holiness Pope Francis, a towering moral force of our time who guided the world with gentleness, clarity, and radical compassion. I had the solemn privilege of praying at his tomb and lifting my dear homeland — Nigeria, and my beloved state — Anambra, in Holy Mass, entrusting our hopes to God under the tender gaze of Our Lady, Mother Mary. From there, I continued to the Sanctissimus Redemptor et Sanctus Alphonsus in Via Merulana — the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer and Saint Alphonsus of Liguori — home to the original 14th-century icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. This powerful image of the Blessed Virgin — the Virgin of the Passion — has comforted the hearts of millions across the globe. Standing before her, I whispered prayers for personal strength and peace in our land, light for our leaders, and help for all who labour under the weight of despair. To experience this on May 13th, a date etched into Catholic memory through the miraculous apparitions at Fátima in 1917, was no coincidence. In a world shaken by uncertainty, Our Lady’s call — to pray with devotion, to repent with humility, and to hold fast to the hope of peace — rings with renewed urgency. May this time draw us back to heartfelt prayer and a deeper service to one another. May the Holy Spirit grant wisdom and strength to the Church under the shepherding of His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV. Mater Fatimae, ora pro nobis. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. #OurLadyOfFatima #SantaMariaMaggiore #OurMotherOfPerpetualHelp #KaAnambraChawapu #PopeFrancisLegacy #Rome

During an Interview with Tencent Video Golden Penguin Awards 2025, #LovesAmbition's Director Chen Chang commends #ZhaoLusi's Passion for Acting ❤️‍🔥 ❝ I first worked with Lusi in 2019 for Dating In The Kitchen. She was very young back then, only 18/19 years old, and she has become a very matured actress now. Firstly, she has a huge passion for acting and dramas. That's what really touches me. Some people might only treat acting as their job and (feel that) they only need to treat their work seriously. But when you have a passion for acting and dramas, the camera will be able to capture that in your eyes and gaze. Your love for dramas can't ever be concealed. That passion is what touches me. After filming for many years, many actors have possessed the ability to act effortlessly and with ease. But Lusi still managed to bring a new kind of feeling to me, through this drama. It's a completely new kind of role, that is so different from her past "sweet girl" roles. She even actively participated in the styling of her character. She was deeply involved in the designing of her character. When she called me on the phone at 3 AM, just to discuss with me about the outfit that she was wearing for the next day, I was very surprised! I realised that this is why some people succeed in life. She often messaged me, even at 3 AM, just to discuss with me her thoughts about the script or her character's outfit. Even as the Director, I felt ashamed. I asked her, "You're still not asleep?" With her family background, since she also grew up with her grandma, she was very good at interacting with the elderlies. Her love for her family in real life has been injected into her character. I think that was what she has added to the character, because of how she is as a person in real life. For her evolution from a "sweet girl" to a "mature woman", she has done so much homework to compensate for what she hasn't experienced in real life. She has done so much research just to allow her character to appear natural. That's all the hard work and homework that the actor has to do."

BTS #V has once again proven his global presence after receiving praise from American music industry, who described him as “A King on Stage.” The moment he appears on stage, he completely changes the atmosphere. And now, the whole world is once again paying attention to that presence. It’s about V. Recently, BTS and their world tour were discussed on the popular podcast by the American media company Audacy. On the broadcast, Audacy executive producer Brooke Morrison and Billboard News host appeared as guests. The two shared behind-the-scenes stories from their interview with BTS, along with their thoughts on the group’s ongoing world tour performances. During the conversation, there was also high praise directed toward V. Billboard News host mentioned that there is someone who feels the most unreal to him these days, and he named V. He went on to say, “V is absolutely dominating this tour,” adding that he was deeply impressed. He especially praised V’s swagger, personality, and the way he enjoys the stage, saying that the more he watched him, the more he thought, “He really feels like a king.” In fact, V has long been loved for his commanding stage presence. His deep vocal tone, expressive performances, and overwhelming aura conveyed even through just his gaze are often considered his greatest strengths. Especially during the current world tour, he has shown an even more relaxed and free-spirited stage manner, receiving explosive reactions from fans. Fans have been saying things like: “You can really feel that he’s enjoying the stage.” “The entire atmosphere changes the moment V appears.” “He makes you completely immersed with just one look.” Previously, major American media outlet The New York Times selected V’s vocals as one of the most impressive voices among BTS’s albums. Evaluations have continued to praise his sweet low tone and distinctive vocal color for leaving the strongest impression on global music fans. Above all, many people say that V’s greatest strength is the immersion he creates on stage. Depending on the mood of the performance, he freely moves between intensity and delicacy, creating a completely different atmosphere every time. Because of this, fans often say, “V turns every stage into a work of art.” And now, that presence has left a powerful impression not only in Korea, but also among figures in the American music industry. V, who continues to show an unmatched presence on the global stage, once again proved why he is called a K-pop icon through this praise. (

The Chinese have held a deeply romantic reverence for the universe. Over two thousand years ago, the poet Qu Yuan (屈原) composed Heavenly Questions, a long poem filled with inquiries about the origins of heaven and earth, and the movements of the stars, attempting to unveil the mysteries of the cosmos through poetic language. The ancients even coined the term tianlai (天籁), or "the sound of heaven," to describe music so beautiful and pure-an ideal of sonic perfection. Yesterday, I attended China's most prestigious cultural fair in south China's Shenzhen. In addition to representatives from more than 60 countries and regions, every province in China, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao, had its own pavilion showcasing the highlights of its cultural heritage. What left the deepest impression on me was a brief yet breathtaking musical performance I stumbled upon at the Shanghai Pavilion. Honestly, I hadn't heard of this performance. By chance, I happened to be nearby when it began. Sometimes, serendipity works in mysterious ways. Within moments, I realized I was hearing something truly extraordinary: the real sound of the heaven, or cosmos. The Shanghai Astronomy Museum had led the creation of the world's first musical instruments made from meteorites, and this was their debut performance. The instrument, known as qing (磬), or chime stones, dates back to China's Neolithic period and was traditionally made of stone. It reached its peak usage over two thousand years ago. Inspired by mythical beasts described in legends from the time of Qu Yuan, the museum used 3D printing to recreate the creatures as instrument bases, then cut 20 pieces of meteorite into chime stones. Due to the extreme difficulty of processing meteorites, several precious pieces were lost in the process. Nine chimes were brought and played publicly for the first time. Two young musicians performed two pieces: The first was "Big Fish," the theme song from a beloved Chinese animated film. Ethereal and profound, it conveys a sense of awe and reverence for nature, and calls for a deeper respect for life and the laws of the natural world. The second was "The East is Red," a song that carried the hopes of a generation for light and renewal. It was also the name of China's first man-made satellite, and has since become a symbol of the nation's space ambitions. From meteorites born billions of years ago, crossing time and space to arrive on the Earth, they responded to our wonder in the form of music. The mini-concert made me believe, more than ever: To gaze at the stars is humanity's deepest form of romance. Our reverence for the cosmos has never ceased. And the universe, in its own way, has never stopped answering.
