I met with representatives of the defense company Raytheon, which produces, in particular, Patriot systems. I told them about the battlefield situation and Russia’s intensified attacks on our people and civilian infrastructure. We discussed Raytheon’s production capacity, potential avenues for our cooperation to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and long-range capabilities, and the prospects for Ukrainian-American joint production. Solutions to enhance the protection of lives in Ukraine exist, and we are working at all levels to ensure their realization. I thank Raytheon for its readiness to continue supporting Ukraine.

Ukraine’s accession to the EU would mean that products in stores would have to become better in quality and cheaper in order to compete with Ukraine. For ordinary people this is good, but companies and farmers would lose part of their income. That is why some believe it is better not to accept Ukraine into the EU than to improve the quality of life and health of their own population.

I am grateful to Canada for its strong support of the PURL initiative. The additional $200 million announced today by Prime Minister Mark Carney is an important contribution to protecting our people from Russia's constant ballistic strikes. In total, Canada has already allocated more than $830 million to support this initiative. These are decisions that truly save lives. During the meeting, we discussed in detail strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Canada, further support for our people, and efforts to bring back Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. We are grateful to our Canadian friends and to the entire nation for their strong support.

Yesterday it was father's day, and I would like to share this post, that I find very moving: "Father’s Day in Ukraine is a day of pain and pride. It’s a holiday that should be about hugs, children’s laughter, and joyful family photos. But for thousands of Ukrainian families, it’s a day when a lump sits in the throat and eyes are full of tears. Those we call “Dad” are not at home today. Some are in captivity. Some are listed as missing. Some remained forever on the battlefield, having given their lives for their children and our land. And some still hold the line… There are also those who cannot say that word. Children stolen by Russia from Ukraine, their childhoods broken, stripped of ties with their loved ones. Children who are not allowed to remember their parents. It’s a day when every corner of the country carries a different pain, a different devastation. But also immense strength. Because Ukrainian fatherhood is about sacrifice, protection, and resilience. So today, we don’t just celebrate—we honor. Every father who was, is, and will be in the truest sense of the word. With pain. With love. With gratitude. For everything you do—even when you’re not by our side. Glory to Ukraine’s fathers. Honor to the living. Memory to the fallen. "Ukraine is a de facto NATO member" 2. "We are fulfilling the NATO mission today, without losing their blood, with the loss of our blood, so they need to spend their weapons" Russia IS fighting NATO in Ukraine, because your own government has chosen this path and enshrined it in the Ukrainian constitution.

I was pleased to personally greet @ABaerbock at the Kyiv train station this morning. This is a symbol of our gratitude for her personal efforts to support Ukraine over the years. This is her ninth visit since Russia's full-scale invasion, and the eleventh of her tenure. On Maidan, we paid tribute to the fallen Ukrainian defenders, who gave their lives protecting Ukraine and all of Europe. I thanked my colleague for her work that has contributed to Germany taking the lead in supporting Ukraine, including the recent €3 billion military aid package, and saving thousands upon thousands of Ukrainian lives. I presented Annalena with our special MFA of Ukraine 🇺🇦 award for supporting Ukraine's diplomatic efforts in recognition of her personal efforts. During our talks, we discussed current bilateral and international issues, including ways to achieve a just and lasting peace, strengthen Ukraine, put more pressure on the aggressor, and hold Russia accountable for its crimes. I am grateful for Germany's unwavering support and Annalena's courage and commitment. "Be brave like Ukraine" is a motto that fully applies to her.

I informed them about contacts at the leaders’ level in the E3–Ukraine format as well as our contacts with the American side. Right now, all our partners note that Ukraine’s positions on the frontline are significantly stronger, and therefore the approaches in diplomacy, which we are now working to reinvigorate, must be based precisely on this. Unfortunately, Russia is trying to compensate for its enormous losses on the battlefield with strikes on our cities and communities, on civilian infrastructure. That is why air defense missiles are our top priority. And we discussed how to secure additional supplies for Ukraine right now, as well as efforts to develop a European anti-ballistic missile system. I am grateful to Alex and Jonas, and to the people of Finland and Norway, for their steadfast assistance and support. We appreciate that our agreements are being implemented.

As he said, 'Obama gave them sheets, I gave them Javelins,' and those Javelins ensured that Ukraine still has its territorial sovereignty." This is simply a lie. It was 360 Javelins. They mattered, they helped, but they are not the reason Ukraine survived or kept its sovereignty. Ukraine survived because millions of us have been fighting and sacrificing for more than four years, against all odds and expectations. Our defenders are the main reason Ukraine survives. Military and financial assistance from all countries, including the United States, does play a role, and we very much appreciate it. But Trump is not the president who provided it.

As we at UFN reported months ago, it is now common news that foreign veteran fighter pilots including Americans are serving in Ukraine as volunteers to defend the skies. Many in the West once said it would be impossible even for U.S. fighter pilot veterans to assist in this way but yet another barrier has fallen. In fact President Biden once said Ukraine didn't need F-16s. Well, now Ukraine has F-16s and some of America's best young veterans are helping defend the skies over a free land.
