Honestly, since the Piglins seem to be more brute than brains both in the movie and games, the writing here kinda makes sense. I mean, come on. How do you see someone you just saw as an enemy as a friend right after you saw them put a gold helmet on right in front of you?

Am I allowed to say I like this type of writing. Not that it's good writing but that I just weirdly enough really like it and it makes me laugh way more than it should.
