Genuine question! When English was not there then in which language indians were talking to each other if they are from different state!

The language of the court for hundreds of years right up to partition was persian. Persian was spoken and written by people of all faiths. Go back and ask your grandfather. He can explain that to you.

Majority are not talking to each other which is not required...Only travelers and traders did.... When someone comes to Tamilnadu they spoke in Tamil and when someone went to Delhi they spoke in Hindi....Stupid Logic....

So, this idiot does not know that before the British came Persian was the official language during the Mughal period.

People hardly travelled far and those who did could speak. My great grandfather was into jhute business. Travelled a lot to Maharashtra and knew marathi. (My grandma is Marathi 😊). So ya! Different time different world.
