Genuine Question : Why didn’t Dr. Strange do this to Thanos?

Because Dormammu lives outside of time so you can bind him by using a time loop but Thanos lives on the same time dimension so looping it is just resetting the time and Thanos wouldn’t feel it.

Nah, for this to work, Thanos has to be an entity beyond time itself. If strange does this, dies and come back, he's going to meet another thanos who doesn't know he had killed strange before, not a looped Thanos.

Dormanu - immortal - remembers the past - loop Thanos - mortal - forgets the past - fresh.

It would have broken the timeline but in this dimension there is no time, so strange technically brought time to a timeless place and thus didn’t risk breaking the timeline.

He probably did. When he was sitting on Titan using the time stone, he saw millions of scenarios. I'd bet that millions of those were different scenarios frok the encounter on Titan.

Because that wouldn’t work on Thanos. Dormammu existed outside of normal time, which is why he was able to sense that he was trapped in a time loop. Thanos, however, wouldn’t have realized what was happening. So Strange and Thanos would essentially be stuck in the time loop.

Strange didn’t use the Time Stone because he’d already seen 14,000,605 possible futures. Only ONE led to victory. Directly using the Stone against Thanos failed in the other outcomes, so he followed the only winning path, even sacrificing the Stone

Doctor Strange couldn't trap Thanos in a time loop because, unlike Dormammu in the timeless Dark Dimension, Thanos exists in normal time and his memory would reset with each loop…

Infinity War established that there's only one scenario where Thanos was defeated,and that's what we saw in Endgame.

1) He might have seen this strategy in his 14 million futures and realized it wouldn't work. 2) Thanos believed he was on a holy mission to correct the universe. With the stones he had, he'd keep fighting and wouldn't surrender just because he got tired of it.

He did try. Once with Thanos’ disciple, and another with the battle with Thanos. Both times he was prevented from using it.
