If i remember what i read the other day correctly... Gold Ship is the product of a breeding experiment where they mated a small, quick, temperamental horse, with a larger, longer-distance-running, smart horse..... And wound up with one that had 'all' of those characteristics, rather than only the 'quick, smart and long-distance' they had hopped to get. To the point that at one point, the trainers had taken Gold-ship out of the stable on a day they normally took him out to mate with other horses.. but instead took him to a showing for a fan-event.. Gold-Ship put on a good show for the fans, but soon as things were over, ended up biting at (or actually biting) the stable-hands.
