George Brett last at bat in the big leagues.

I was there. In upper deck. Lee let that grounder get thru. ⚾️

@KCMikeMahoney They let that hit happen, it’s a level of gamesmanship that’s faded

Rafael Palmeiro and George Brett. Two GOATs.

I have one of his hits.

I don't think that was a base hit. I think that was the shortstop acknowledging the player and the moment and taking his time. Even Bett was laughing about it in the video.

My favorite player in sports history. Loved watching him play.

Legend! My favorite ball player of all time!

One of the best baseball quotes I have ever heard is what George Brett said when he was asked about how he wanted his last at bat to go.

He's got way too much pine tar on that bat!

Forever My Idol Super George Brett #5

@TheRealJHair My first baseball hero. I wanted to hit like that.

Loved watching him play! Now, as for his last bat? He chuckled with the first baseman… did the shortstop hustle after that ground ball? No, but it was still a hit in the books! 👍 Wonder how many 30-40 yr olds are named after him? will all the “George Brett names stand up?😉

If I was the SS I wouldn’t have tried to hard to get it

Man who taught him to hit is the man who taught me to hit. .514 in 3 years of high school, .389 in 3 years of DI college. Hitting is eyes, hands, hips, feet.

At Paco’s Tacos, a restaurant near LAX, there’s a large photo of Brett in Royals uniform. I asked why. Turns out he grew up in nearby El Segundo, and has donated a lot of money to build fields and support local youth baseball. If any non-Dodger deserves acclaim in LA, it’s him.

Now come all the liars that "were there" that day in 3, 2, 1......

Ball player 🫡

@realfrankboal Shortstop sold😂

Final Game for Brett, Nolan Ryan and Arlington Stadium.

He's got about a quarter pound of chaw in his mouth. Love it.

George Brett singled to @CincoDeMino's caddy in his last ever at bat.

They don’t make them like that anymore. Just an absolute legend and all around great guy .

Top 10 greatest baseball players of all time

No gloves A seeing-eye single up the middle Perfect end for a great hitter!

Number 5🤩🙌🏻

Actually was there that day in Arlington. Still have the game program and ticket. $4 bleacher seat next to the left-field foul pole.

My man!!!

Great Hitter!!!👊🏻

Tom Heinke

Great player, jerk of a human...!

Wonder if he celebrated with some Alaskan crab legs and 💩 his 👖

I remember reading at the time both the pitcher and shortstop helped with his hit. The pitcher only threw batting practice fastballs down the middle of the plate and the shortstop said if it was close he was letting it through. Both considered it an act of respect.

I was at this game and saw this
