Justin Gaethje says he’ll never back down from a chance to stand and bang - just like he did with Max Holloway. “I fought a bad fight, and I was in a position where I was going to lose. And once he granted me that opportunity to go out and knock him out to win the competition, I was never going to turn that opportunity down. That’s the sole reason I showed up - for the chance to win. I understood I was losing, and with that opportunity, I had no choice. I’d do it a hundred times over.” (Via ESPN MMA )

Oct 30, 1974: The Rumble in the Jungle! Muhammad Ali knocked out George Foreman in the 8th round to seal a spectacular victory! 🗣️ "Then, in 1981, a reporter came to my ranch and asked me: 'What happened in Africa, George?' I had to look him in the eye and say, 'I lost. He beat me.' Before that, I had nothing but revenge and hatred on my mind. But from then on, it was clear: I was never going to win that fight, so I had to let it go." -George Foreman

Q: When you saw the clip of Pond running away from sasaeng fans, what was your first reaction? 🐼: At first, I was shocked, so I texted to ask what happened and if he was okay. After I found out everything, I understood.

Justin Gaethje says he didn’t realize how badly Ilia’s face was damaged during the fight 😳 "I never saw his face. I saw when I hit him with the uppercut, he reached for his eye, and I saw blood. I was like, "Sweet." That was in the first round, and that was it. That's all I remember, really. Outside of that, I sat down in the corner after the fourth round, and I was like, "Was that the third or fourth round?" And then my coach in the corner was like, "It's over, it's over." And I was like, "What?" So I didn't even know that he was compromised like that. I had no idea." via: Flagrant Podcast

Madonna says Michael Jackson was deeply tortured by fame and never stopped judging himself “I think he felt eternally tortured by people.” Howard Stern: “Was Michael Jackson someone you could really open up to?” Madonna: “We could relate because we lived in the same crazy world… but our friendship wasn’t really about revealing ourselves.” “He was painfully shy. He’d been famous since he was a child, and I don’t think he ever really had a childhood.” “I think he was never happy with the way he looked, and it was hard for him to look people in the eyes.” “It was important to me that he knew I wasn’t judging him.” Howard Stern: “Did you ever record music together?” Madonna: “Yeah… but we never did.”

ROSÉ about partners feeling hidden “It’s been both ways. Some understood. But one of the toxic relationships… looking back, I realize I was way more paranoid than I needed to be. At the time, I was younger, more insecure, and very much in love. He’d say things like he didn’t want me around his friends or that he was too busy, and he framed it like it was about his job. I convinced myself it meant he was serious and dedicated. Now I look back and think why did you need that? at that time he was really serious about his job and i was like “that’s hot” I’ve met people after him who were way higher profile and still wanted to do more normal things with me. That was when it clicked. I had been gaslit into thinking that level of restriction was normal.”
