George Lombard Jr. has really impressive physical tools that will only accentuate his technical skills. His Home Plate to 1B time is 4.12 seconds, ahead of Bobby Witt Jr. and tied with Corbin Carroll.

@RyanGarciaESM Why do you think so many scouts seem to whiff on prospect speed like this? Like he had a 55 grade but he’s 98th percentile, I remember same thing w Julio had a 55 then came up and was 98th percentile. Idk how that’s not a 70++

What’s considered plus speed or not is less objective in measurables. Also hard to find said data publicly or privately. A lot of this is eye scouting which is why it’s pretty imprecise.

@RyanGarciaESM @connorclapp15 98th percentile sprint speed. Most outlets gave him either a 55-60 for defense and 60-65 arm and his showing his defense and arm are more like 70s. He also never got this much credit for his speed either which always was graded at a 60. The kid is tooled up.
