George McCaskey will probably get some hate for this, but he’s 100% right… “Well I heard a lot about ‘Bear weather’ back in January when this team from Southern California was gonna come in here and we’re gonna expose them to Bear weather, and they wound up with the W.”

@DepBearsFan Promise you matt stafford wouldve beat us by 30 without snow

Bear weather is 110% myth. For every game the Bears have won because of 'bear weather', they have lost 10. I get the idea of wanting an outdoor stadium, because when the weather isn't shit, it can be a wonderful experience. But, it makes little sense to build a multi-billion dollar open air stadium in a city with a winter climate. Unless you're like Buffalo, and no one would want to travel there for events anyway. For Chicago, you want a 365 day venue, and a domed stadium gives you that. The surrounding developments will also depend on that venue being 365.

@DepBearsFan We lost by 3 in overtime… that quote was a slap in the face to Bears fans

@DepBearsFan Its not even about competitive advantage for me. Snow games just look cool.

@DepBearsFan Man, stop it. All I heard was “anything, but football”. I get business, but this ain’t about football. It’s about the money

@DepBearsFan It’s tradition, that game would have been way less appealing without cold and snow, bear weather. Keeps it fun, interesting, decides favorites and betting in general. We would be just the plain ole Vikings while other cold franchises build open domes. Dumb

@DepBearsFan Weather should always be a factor in the game of football

@DepBearsFan What are u talking about?!! The rams high powered offense was completely neutralized while it masked our biggest weaknesses which were no pass rush and weak secondary in coverage. Was an overtime 1-score game. In a dome we don’t rly have a chance in that one last year.

@DepBearsFan Never forget that one too George! Hello Joe Montana and Jerry Rice and the 49ers! They kicked our ass in the cold Bear weather!!

@DepBearsFan He’s not right. The Rams expressed vigorously the discomfort in playing in that weather. The Bears blew the game. On turf that could’ve been a Rams 30 point win. But in that weather the Bears defense played amazing. Best game of defense they played all season considering.

@DepBearsFan Citing 1 game. Bears lost that one due to errors by Rome, and DJ. It happens. Defense played lights out against the MVP QB. Outdoor play in Dec, Jan is a part of this team’s history. Economics are different now. Another perspective is that they’re too cheap for a retractible.

@DepBearsFan The bear weather is what kept us from getting slaughtered lmao.

@DepBearsFan I don’t think he’s right. The Bears were a worse team and almost won. Having the advantage in the cold is a real thing. I think they should just stay at Soldier.

@DepBearsFan If by 100% right you mean 100% wrong then you are right.

@DepBearsFan Yeah but the Bears dominated the game because of the weather, if it was in a Dome the Rams would have won my 20 or more

@DepBearsFan Used to be a thing when high school and college players grew up in the Midwest and played for the bears 50 years ago. Now you have players from warm climates all over. Nothing trumps talent either.

@DepBearsFan Is that based on his extensive survey of players? Or just one game we lost by a hair? He’s a hypocrite. And a shitty businessman.

@DepBearsFan Yeah the weather is over rated. It can be fun and nostalgic to the old days, but how many games have we lost in cold weather? It really hasn't mattered. The bills lost in snow at home to the bengals in the playoffs. Bills haven't won a superbowl because the weather helped them

@DepBearsFan George… you’re dismissal of Bear Weather is pathetic, and we’ve covered this already...

@DepBearsFan Yes, Bear weather hasn’t worked since 1985.

@DepBearsFan And if that game was played in a Dome Bears get smoked.

@DepBearsFan Temperature is the most overrated thing to care about in football

@DepBearsFan Bear weather is part of the fan experience & team culture, not a win printing benefit. Taking it away detracts from the game experience and that's what people hate.

@DepBearsFan Except the weather was a huge reason the game was close or even got to overtime

@DepBearsFan Noted Football Guy Ben Johnson literally just said the exact opposite. "“I know now that the power of Soldier Field, particularly at that time of year, is a real thing.” - Ben

@DepBearsFan Even though they lost the game i believe the weather gave them an advantage. Rams dropoff in that weather was bigger than the Bears'. Especially Stafford.

@DepBearsFan A stadium that can close for events other than football is the only way

@DepBearsFan bruh i wholeheartedly believe that same rams team would’ve wiped us by 20 if that game was indoors but aye

@DepBearsFan I recall the talk of “Bear weather” all the way back in January 1989 when the Bears hosted the Niners in frigid conditions and San Fran whipped their ass…Bear weather has been a myth for a long time

@DepBearsFan As a packer fan I agree... paying $300-$1000 to sit in frigid temperature is STUPID!!!! Plus no super bowls come to your city and players are miserable.

@DepBearsFan 49ers beating Packers in Lambeau in January is probably a better argument, just saying

@DepBearsFan Think about the best players on our team and where they are from. We don’t play great in cold weather

@DepBearsFan It definitely makes a difference. The wind whipping the stadium. Hands and fingers nearly go numb. It’s harder to breathe. When you get hit, it hurts that much more. Building a dome would be ignorant. As fans, we shouldn’t care what other venues go on other than football.

@DepBearsFan Also, 100% right? You believe there is no advantage to Bear Weather?
